Book Blogger Confessions (Monday, June 18, 2012)

Book Blogger Confessions is a meme hosted by Tiger from All Consuming Media and Karen from For What It's Worth Reviews to discuss issues unique to book bloggers. To find out details, click HERE.

Question: We have created a blogging time machine! Pretend you can start over. Knowing what you know now about blogging – what do you wish you did differently when it comes to creating/running your blog?

Answer: I really wish I had started book blogging sooner!  Seriously, I feel like I've been missing out on so much!   I also wish I had come up with some very unique content (features, memes)...maybe I'll still be able to think of some one day!

I've also read tons and tons of books over the years and if I had written 50 or so reviews before I started I might have had some content to draw from instead of trying to read faster!

Finally, I love my blog name - it has personal meaning to me and I don't want to change it.  However, I sometimes wonder if I should have come up with something more unique.

I think anyone starting blogging these days should really have that 50 or so reviews written. You have no idea how overwhelmed you will get by reading & life.

Yeah totally understand with blogging and doing it. I wouldn't change my name either :)

YES with the backlog of reviews! I can't even imagine how wonderful it would feel to not be pressured to crank out new reviews so often.

Fantastic answer Pam, I definitely wish I had started blogging sooner too! I had the idea for several months and went back and forth before finally deciding to go for it, and I have no idea why I waited so long:) And I love your blog name!

I haven't seen very much response to reviews, could just be mine are boring, so I am not sure more reviews would have helped in my case. People seem to like giveaways. Too bad that also doesn't make steady followers. I do understand wishing you had started sooner. That way I would be able to claim more years. I feel like a year makes me sound like a reading infant. I have been reading so much longer than a year.

@Karen - I so wish I had done that. I may not feel so behind in blogging all the time.

@Julie - Thanks. I love the name of your blog.

@Andrea - Exactly!

@Jenny - I actually researched and thought about it for several months too before I took the plunge. But I do wish I had done it all sooner.

@Ephrielle - I doubt your reviews are boring. I don't get a ton of responses and comments either. I know what you mean about sounding like a reading infant, lol.

So true... I wish that I had learned about the book blogging community sooner. If I had started engaging other bloggers and kept a steady schedule, that might have been a lot better.

Right now I am in read & review mode because I have no extra reviews and I can't tell you how much I wish I had a secret stash of reviews! I also wish I started much earlier. I had no idea all this exciting bookish stuff was here until a year ago.
