I've bought duplicate copies a few times. I'll also admit that one time (that I know of lol) I bought the hardcover, then a paperback bc I forgot about the hardcover and then bought the ebook because I saw it on sale and was like "Oooh I've always wanted to read this."
I've never accidently bought duplicate copies (yet) but I have intentionally bought two copies of my absolute favorite books. Sometimes it's because it's a different edition and other times I want to keep one brand new and another I lend out or to read again.
My preference order is Afterlight, Halfway to the Grave, Interview with a vampire and Street Magic.

Yes, I am very bad at doing that. And I also give them away to other bookish friends. I would love to win the first or the last one. I do have Halfway to the Grave, and Anne Rice is way too scary for me :)
I don't think I've ever done that, probably because I give each book so much thought before I buy it that it sticks in my head lol.
