Happy Birthday Ray Bradbury!

Dear Mr. Bradbury,

Even though you are no longer here, I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday.  You would have been 92 today and I think I speak for many when I say that you will always be with us.  Your books and stories have left an impression on our entire culture, perhaps our entire era.  I mean you won the National Medal of Arts Award in 2004!

I remember growing up and seeing one of your books in my dad's hands quite often.  He was the person who introduced you to me.  He loved your Sci-Fi stories and I loved your spooky ones.  Remember when I first saw the movie version of The Halloween Tree?  It was like I had entered a dream, it spoke to me and reinforced my love of Halloween.  I hope to plant my own Halloween tree one day.

The book I remember the most is Homecoming, the one about the  human boy in a family of vampires who are all coming home for a special event.  I remember certain things about the story, but I mostly remember the way it made me feel.  You are an icon Mr. Bradbury, a national treasure and even though you will no longer be writing, I am confident that your stories will be read for many generations.
