- According to one legend, while Saint Valentine was in prison, he fell in love with a young girl (rumored to be the jailor's daughter). Before his death, he wrote her a letter, signed "From your Valentine," an expression that is still in use today.
- A Roman myth says that roses grew when Cupid was carrying nectar to the gods on Mt. Olympus, he spilled the liquid and from that spot roses grew.
- The oldest known valentine that is still in existence today was written by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife while he was a prisoner in the Tower of London. It is on display in the British Museum.
- The Italian city of Verona, where Shakespeare's lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet every Valentine's Day.

Thanks, Pam.
^^ I really love this giveaway because i've to read romance for a challenge so i'm really to discover new books but i have a question, it said the contest close the 10february but the rafflecopter sayd the 14 so which date is the one ( i'm happy to be already entered)
Awesome contest, great books to giveaway! The most romantic book... this may sound odd, but the Novella Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye. In this one the couple meets in an elevator that has stalled, and the power is out. The lights are out and the couple gets to know each other for who they are, not for looks. To me this one gets to the heart of attraction, making it super romantic, you know, in that stuck-in-an-elevator-way :) Book Savvy Babe
I can't really think of a "most romantic" book. I have read so many romance books, from historicals to contemporaries, and especially paranormals. One romantic historical that comes to mind is PLEASURE FOR PLEASURE by Eloise James. Thank you so much for the giveaway.
Thank you Miki for pointing that out. I fixed it.
Nice recommendations everyone. I haven't heard of a lot of these.
