Dusty Volumes Contest.

Photobucket

So here it is March already.  How many Dusty Volumes have you read so far?  I've only completed two, Dracula and A Study in Scarlet and honestly, the latter is a short story.  So, I haven't been as successful with this challenge as I would have liked, but you know how it goes: "The best laid plans of mice and men..." yadda, yadda, yadda.  I'm not sure what I'll be reading next.  Perhaps Jane Eyre or The Woman in White

I held my first Dusty Volumes giveaway after I finished Dracula. You can read about it HERE.  To celebrate that I finished another selection on my list I'm holding another.

Contest:  Sorry, only open to the participants of the 2011 Dusty Volumes Challenge participants as of this post.  (But don't be sad. I'll be having more contests in the future and you can sign up now.  Just click on the Dusty Volumes button above or in the sidebar.)
  • I'm giving away a $10 gift e-certificate to the bookstore of your choice. (If the store of your choice charges for sending an e-certificate, the cost will be deducted from the $10.)
To Enter:
  • You must leave a comment stating what you plan to read for your next Dusty Volumes choice.
 Rules:
  • See my contest policy HERE.
  • Contest ends Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at midnight (EST).
  • Please leave your e-mail address in your comment or make sure your name leads to an e-mail address. If I can't find an e-mail unfortunately, you will be disqualified.
  • Winners will be chosen by Random.org.
  • If I cannot contact the winner within 72 hours the next winner will be chosen.

So far I've read 5 books for the challenge- Rebecca, Woman in White, and the first 3 Narnia books. Next Dusty Reads are The Postman Always Rings Twice and The Haunting of Hill House, along with the rest of the Narnia books. It's amazing how fresh old books can feel, I loved Rebecca and The Woman in White, and of course, the Narnia books are classics. Really enjoying this challenge!

Argh!! I haven't been doing well on this contest either!! I have tried to read In Cold Blood but I had to put it back. So I think I'm going to read "Catcher in the Rye" next! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I'm totally sucking at this one so far. I HAVE started reading Pride and Prejudice since everyone says I MUST read Austen, but that's as far as I have gotten so far =(

I suck too! I haven't started the challenge. I've been reading a lot of Victorian metafiction that kind of pokes fun of a few dusty volumes but they are not old enough to count for the challenge.

I think my first read will be The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde, first published in 1890. I'm actually really embarassed that I haven't read it yet.

Congrats on reading two Dusty Volumes. I've failed at this challenge. But I twitted about doing better once school is done (April 18th is my last exam). I plan on reading Jane Eyre, and The Little Prince next. The Little Prince is pretty short, so maybe I can read that while taking study breaks.

Thanks for your comment. If you decide to check out The Strangers Outside like you said, you have to know that it is only a short story and not an entire novel. Drowned Sorrow is a real book though ;-)

I love your blog and the design is great.
