A setting and even characters that are close to where and who you are give you that sense of unease and anxiety, because you know you may not be safe.

@Karen-I am totally with you. I think Criminal Minds is scarier than slasher movies because the horrible people out there are more realistic.Midnyte Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10411332857885069319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114795204205214186.post-87565133762583216782013-04-12T17:42:45.996-04:002013-04-12T17:42:45.996-04:00I don't scare easily because in my head I know...I don't scare easily because in my head I know it's not real but anything that approaches reality will scare me.

For example Silence of the Lambs scared me to death but not Hannibal Lecter. He seemed over the top to me. I loved the cat and mouse between him and Clarice - it was chilling but not scary. The dude luring women into his van to make coats out of them??? he scared me! I feel like the could happen to me.

I love creepy books/movies though and I love that YA is getting pretty daring on that front. While horror isn't my genre of choice because I scare easily, I do love the eerie and suspenseful stories, and the eeriest of those for me are always the ones that feel like they mirror my life the closest:)Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199685365145765394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114795204205214186.post-17534372521531248962013-04-11T09:48:30.191-04:002013-04-11T09:48:30.191-04:00Yes!
